Meet the ice cream maker.

Pint's Peak is Denver's small batch artisan ice cream completely owned and operated by Caitlin Howington, a trained pastry chef who fell in love with Colorado with a burning desire to share her love of high quality ice cream with unique flavors.

Originally from Maryland, Caitlin graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Pastry Arts from Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. During her education, Caitlin worked for esteemed restaurateurs in Philadelphia including Iron Chef Jose Garces, completed an internship at the Four Seasons Hotel, and became Pastry Chef leading the pastry department for two restaurants (Barbuzzo and Jamonera) and a retail chocolate shop (Marcie Blaine Artisanal Chocolates) by age 23. After spending 8 years working in fine dining and hotels, she left the kitchen to become more well rounded and fine tune other skills. Caitlin then spent several years working in a variety of roles within the hospitality industry including high end catering and events, sales, operations, and marketing.

In August 2019, after a solo trip to Denver, she chose to sell everything, and move to Colorado only eight months before COVID-19 related closures. She accepted a sales position with an upscale catering and decor company, however, in March 2020 when COVID-19 hit, Caitlin was one of the millions laid off.

She’d had the idea of starting an ice cream business over the years, and decided to use this new free time to launch it. Having only visited the Rocky Mountains once before permanently relocating, Caitlin took inspiration from Pikes Peak and dubbed her elevated ice cream: Pint’s Peak.

When she’s not dreaming up ice cream concoctions, she’s also a powerlifter, swing dancer, husky mama, and lover of the outdoors.

Our mission is to delight people with small batch, scratch-made artisan ice cream in Colorado using local dairy and the highest quality ingredients. We create chef-driven innovative flavors to change the way you think about ice cream.

 At Pint’s Peak Ice Cream:

  • We give back to our community, promote other local small businesses, empower other female entrepreneurs, and support equality and inclusivity for all people. 

  • We continually rotate seasonal flavors and try new things - we have a catalog of over 50 ice cream flavors that we love to mix and match. Some of our most popular flavors to date have been Honeycomb Vanilla, Coconut Lemongrass, Smoked S’mores, Peach Cardamom Crisp, Sweet Corn, and Burnt Sugar Sage.

  • Our ice creams are mostly made from a French custard base. We love the creaminess, body, and flavor of egg yolks and make it in a very classic French method, thanks to our founder’s training as a pastry chef.

  • 99% of our mix-ins are made from scratch, even our “Oreos!”

  • We. Love. Local. That means it all starts with local dairy out of Bellvue, Colorado, and we incorporate locally grown and produced ingredients whenever possible, from Olathe corn to Palisade Peaches and locally distilled spirits.

  • We strive to keep our ice cream unprocessed and pure. That means no stabilizers, no high fructose corn syrup, and using whole ingredients. That’s right, that means our Coconut Lemongrass flavor is made with ~actual~ lemongrass, not flavoring. You get the idea.
